Archbishop of Canterbury visits Bristol this September

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, will spend the weekend of 12 to 14 September 2014 in the Diocese of Bristol, highlighting and engaging in local mission.  A major focus of the visit combines one of his own priorities with the Diocese’s theme for 2014 – creating confidence in evangelism.

There are lots of events happening throughout the weekend and we at St Stephen’s are particularly excited that the Archbishop will be Baptising Alison and Michelle who recently attended our Alpha course, come along to support them in their walk with Jesus.

Please pray for good weather for this wonderful outdoor service. Celebrations will continue afterwards with a hog roast, Indian food, live music and fun for all the family.

Our next course starts on Sunday 3rd August at 7.30 at the Vicarage, please contact us for more details.

The Alpha Course is a relaxed and informal 7 week course exploring the difference Christianity can make to our sense of identity, meaning and purpose in life. Including a meal, a short talk and discussion, this is a space for you to share your thoughts and ask questions relating to faith.

Fish ‘n’ Chips, Bread ‘n’ Wine

Everyone is welcome to join us as we explore how the first church celebrated the Lord’s Supper together. We’re doing this in the context of a fellowship meal.

Come along, contribute what you can, have fun, meet others and meet God.

We’d love to see you, Sunday 22nd, 6.30PM

Helping out with Music

Helping out with Music

If you’re a part of church life and around on Sundays then we’d love to have you help out with our music. At the moment we need some musical help with our all age service on the first Sunday of every month, and our evening worship in the autumn.

We’re looking for pianists, drummers, guitarists, bassists, singers – anything you feel you can contribute, please do let us know!
